Dependence on oil in the United States Since the oil embargo of 1977 people have become increasingly aware of our energy security. As the population and energy consumption of the world increases, the need for stable supply of energy becomes a topic and political turmoil. As our negative trade balance expands, the United States is in a very dangerous situation. We are increasingly dependent on oil in the Middle East. Indeed, the US Department of Energy (DOE) forecast that domestic oil consumption will increase to 60 Btu by 2025.
Choose as an agent in the environment: the Russian Oligopodium population which is dependent on the US free market, the Chinese expansionism central plan, or oil export. You can not like America's dependence on oil, it's a good thing. But you can not replace American energy demand overnight. Do you want to save species and civilization? Trade is equally important for human civilization and environmental protection. Destroying a person and rescuing another will lead to the end of humanity. (Is this a more metaphor of chess or sorry, I am a beginner.)
Demand for petroleum continues to grow, so the dependence of US oil on foreign oil has reached a record high. Americans depend on oil for transportation, heating and electricity. Over the past five to ten years, demand for more efficient refueling methods has increased. Petroleum engineering has caused a revolution in the whole country. Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Texas, and other areas where high drilling countries are affecting have a major impact on the country as a whole.
The United States is increasingly dependent on overseas oil. Most foreign oil is managed by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and is dominated by Arab countries. After the 1973 Arab - Israel war, the dependence on US foreign oil has led to a crisis. OPEC was angry at the support of Israel's west and blocked oil to the United States. Supply is poor, prices have soared, and gas stations have long lines. President Richard Nixon urged the United States to achieve "independence of oil". He asked Americans to save energy by sharing a car and lowering the thermostat. He prolonged daylight saving time, banned gasoline on Sunday, and allowed Congress to approve the construction of the Transalaska oil pipeline. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries released the embargo measure in 1974, but oil prices continued to rise through the 1970s.
