The population growth rate in the United States continues to grow at less than 1% annually. In the past decade, the population of American Indians and Alaska Native Americans (AIAN) has increased by 26.7% 1. According to the 2010 census, there are about 2 million AIAN population in the USA and 7% of the American population I will occupy. 2 Native Alaska (AN) is the second largest population group in Alaska. In any other province, they account for a higher percentage of Alaska's population than Indians.

Third, the reported maximum number of Native American or Alaska Native population is reflected in a separate population or combined population of American Indians and Alaska Natives. One way to define American Indians and Alaska Natives is to combine respondents who report only American Indians and Alaska Natives with one or more other ethnic groups reporting American Indians and Alaska Natives. Adding these two groups resulted in separate or combined populations of American Indians and Alaska Natives. Another way to think of American Indians and Alaska Indigenous People alone or in combination is to report the total number of American Indians and Alaska Natives regardless of whether they report other ethnicities or not.

Of the 5.2 million Americans who reported native Americans and Alaska indigenous people, 2.9 million people were independently identified as American Indians and Alaska Native Americans (see Table 1). An additional 2.3 million people reported that American Indians and Alaska Natives were combined with one or more other races. Among the five OMB ethnic groups, the proportion of American Indians and Alaska Native population is second most (44%), reporting more than two races 17 Hawaii Natives and 2000-2010, multi-ethnic American Indians and Alaska indigenous people increased by 645,000. From 2000 to 2010, the population growth rate of multinational American Indians and Alaska Native population (39%) far exceeded the population growth rate of American Indians and Alaska Natives (18%) (see Table 1).
