American Indian Movement: Activism and Repression

Movement of American Indians: Behaviorism and Suppression For centuries, Native Americans suffered from social and government exchanges. American Indians protested that these pressures can be traced back to the colonial era. The breakdown of the treaty, purge policy, cultural adaptation, and assimilation brought scars to the American indigenous community. These policies and continued repression of indigenous communities creates a tense atmosphere. The government's pressure on assimilation and a clear goal of destroying cultures, communities, and identities through policy gives reasons to fight local people.
