America: A Melting Pot of Cultures

1 America is an immigrant country. This is a place for people around the world to build a better life. Some immigrants brought their families. Some people bring in something they like. Only others have decisions. One thing that all immigrants bring is their culture. Human culture is the custom and belief that they possess. Human culture is closely related to the country where they grew up. It is closely related to family relationship. Many people come to the United States from various places all over the world. For this reason, many people call the United States a "crucible" of culture.

The two "crucible" ideas compare the United States with a huge stock pot. All immigrants are ingredients added to the pan. All immigrants have their own preferences. After each immigrant comes to the U.S. they will contact other people. People understand each other's culture. This is the beginning of melting of American stockpots.

Three American immigrants began colonies with Jamestown in 1607. In 1620, another group left England and founded a settlement in the United States. These people call themselves pilgrims. They are eager to go to places where they can freely practice religion. They want to get rid of the British government. Both teams are working hard to build a good solution

Later, each country follows a similar story, adopts the mainstream cultural approach of following generations learning English and adopting the white Anglo-Saxon approach. For example, the largest ethnic group who emigrated to the United States in the 19th century came from Germany. But what about the Germans in America? We have German restaurant from Germany and Christmas habit. But that's it.
