Since 11 years, IB Diploma (DP) student Valeria Wu participates in the Global Issues Network (GIN) conference every year. This organization will support student-led projects and sustainable development, gather students from all over the world and discuss regional and global issues
Valeria, however, converts these arguments into meaningful actions and hopes to play a role in the Peruvian community. Therefore, she founded the World Ambassador Scheme (GAP)
GAP is a part of GIN and is a virtual global platform that connects 80 students of 30 different nationalities (14 to 18 years old). Ambassadors regularly communicate on Skype, develop research projects and develop toolkits to improve community.
This program aims to build a network of students' leaders at each international school, promote services, take actions, and enhance accessibility of GIN. Since ambassadors are aware of the school's responsibility to play a role as a promoter of change and social justice, they work with local schools in their area.
For example, GIN Local School's case study encourages schools to build stakeholder communities that support student behavior.
Valeria of Franklin Delano Roosevelt of American School in Lima explains as follows. "Currently, we are working on case studies of over 40 people around the world, analyzing the progress and checking the function and operation at the end of June. The exact amount that students can not take action at different schools Please tell me about the problem and tell me how to solve this problem. "
For students who give authority and perform change but do not know where to start from, the GIN project workbook is a step-by-step guide on how to identify regional problems and take action.
Since the establishment of the program, Valeria acquired many lifelong skills including project management and leadership. "Tolerance is the key to becoming an effective leader on an international scale, a program that works with students with each question, agenda, and commitment. It takes a long time to resolve the mail, it's a special problem, "she said.
