Elements are substances that can not be broken down into simple substances in a known way. Therefore, each of the 92 natural elements is one of the basic substances of all substances in the universe. Aluminum is the third most common element on the planet next to oxygen and silicon. So far, the most abundant metals on the planet is currently widely used in everything from soft drink cans to bodies and window frames. About 8% of the earth's outer layer (crust) is made of aluminum. Aluminum-containing compounds are contained in various substances such as antacids, insulation materials in our house, small white spots in the garden compost (called meteorites).

Aluminum is a shiny silver metal. It is very light and soft so you can easily bend it by hand. Upon exposure to air, the metal surface reacts with oxygen to form an aluminum oxide coating that prevents further corrosion of the underlying metal. In addition, aluminum has weak metals such as copper and tin, and scientists call it "poor" metal. However, aluminum, aluminum and other metals will produce tough materials like steel. All of these features make aluminum a very important element. It ranges from chewing gum packaging and canned can production to tanking and aircraft fuselage armor plating. In fact, the modern world will be a very different place without aluminum.

Each atom contains protons, neutrons, and small particles called electrons. Protons and neutrons gather at the nucleus of the atomic center. The electrons rotate around the nucleus in a series of layers called the electron shell. The number of protons is given by atomic number. Since the atomic number of aluminum is 13, each atom has 13 protons. The combination of protons and neutrons gives the atom its mass. The atomic weight of aluminum is 27, which means that there are 14 atoms per atom.
