The update of the Disabled Persons Education Act (IDEA) in 1997 affected the evaluation method of students with disabilities. Under law, students with disabilities are obliged to participate in the general curriculum as much as possible. Due to recent inclusive trends, educators are forced to develop ways to evaluate students with special needs working in general education classrooms. Brain research tells us that students have different ways of learning; therefore we should have other scoring methods to satisfy the needs of students with learning disabilities.

Alternative scoring method for evaluating student progress in various ways. Recent studies suggest that alternate grading methods may provide better growth opportunities for students' overtime. These methods include portfolio, narrative assessment, contract evaluation, development meeting, and oral feedback. These methods provide insight into evaluation methodology and highlight the progress and improvement of students. Some alternative scoring methods include Contract Rating, Waldorf Rating Style, and Story Evaluation.

EDUC 532 Education method and teaching materials for students with disabilities, 7 - 7 grades 12 Prerequisite: EDUC 502 In this course, you will learn curriculum and guidance from the perspective of disabled junior high school teachers. Please receive a general education course and evaluation. Candidates identify, examine and practice a variety of effective educational strategies to educate disabled students. Candidates learn to differentiate, personalize, and participate in collaborative education. They examine the motivation and communication to stimulate and maintain learning process, curriculum and unit planning, student interests, participation and achievement. There is a field trip for 15 hours. 3 Credits

EDUC 531 Educational methods and materials for disabled students, sixth graders Prerequisites: EDUC 502 This course requires research and analysis of effective educational strategies for disabled students at the age of 6th grade . Candidates identify strengths and discuss ways to personalize education and collaboration. In order to promote and maintain students' interests, collaboration, and achievement, review the curriculum, motivation, communication, and classroom management learning process, curriculum, and unit plan as a whole. Candidates discuss effective ways to work with parents and how to work with other staff. There is a field trip for 15 hours. 3 Credits
