Alienation in In Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World

In Aldous Huxley's brave new world, alienation is an important and well thought out theme. There are many alienation examples in the form of many characters that appear in novels in this book. The Webstars dictionary defines alienation as "alienated state, or state of isolation from human environment, work, work, or self." The definition of alienation or separation from their environment is widely applicable to many characters of Huxley's work. Two good examples are two of the best intellectuals at Brave New World, Helmholtz Watson and Mustapha Mond.

You may think Olds Huxley's brave new world society expresses the future as a whole, but probably our society has not changed so much. Aldous Huxley is known for his novel "The Brave New World" depicting the Utopia of the Post Industrial Revolution. Mr. Huxley is very concerned about the impact of consumer capitalism on the industrial world. In the novel the government is focusing on improving technology rather than exploring and experimenting with science. The value of society lies in immediate satisfaction and constant happiness. Utopia is maintained by medicine.
