Against Making Flag Burning Illegal

The burning of the flag is now a big irony in America. Every day, people are trying to stop freedom of speech, one of America's greatest freedoms. Even such a way of exercising America's greatest amendment, freedom of expression is not welcomed by everyone, nevertheless it is still protected by our laws. The burning of the citizens of the American flag is considered disgraceful by many Americans, but should not be banned. I believe that many people are dissatisfied with burning the American flag and that it should be illegal according to the crime of this country's citizens.

It is currently not illegal to ban the flag in the United States. The US Supreme Court ruled in 1969 that the incineration of the flag was protected by the first amendment. However, people who burned flags may be convicted of despising as having fired without permission. Interestingly, burning the flag until 1969 was illegal. The first ruling of the US Supreme Court on the flag was passed in 1907 by Hortar vs. Nebraska. Most early flag bindings prohibit burning national flags or other ways not respecting national flags. Later, in 1968, Congress passed the slander of federal flag to respond to the American flag burning in the central park as a protest against the Vietnam War. The law prohibits "contempt" against the national flag.

Recently Congress voted again against the amendment that would be for federal criminal penalty for the depreciation of the American flag. There is a faint argument that burning our flags is illegal, it sets a dangerous precedent due to unacceptable restrictions on freedom of expression. If you define this law very concretely, this is impossible: for example, acts of defamation and burning of American flags are illegal. It is proved to be difficult and complicated to solve other problems within this range.

In Australia, there were several attempts to burn the flag through laws, but none have been successful. As of May 2016, the recent bill to ban the burning of flags was a bill amendment (protection of the flag of Australia) introduced by the flag member George Christensen in 2016 and it did not proceed . During the anger in Cronulla in 2005, the Lebanese who had been kept secret - an Australian youth entered the building of the RSL club and split the flag before marking it as a fire.
