African Bushmen Creation Myth

People do not always live on the surface of the earth. In the past, humans and animals lived in the basement and lived with the husband and the head of everything, Kaang (Käng). In this place, people and animals live in peace. They understand each other. Even without the sun, nobody wants anything. In this fun time, Kaang began to plan a miracle he will put in the world.

The first Khan made a wonderful tree spread all over the country. At the bottom of the tree, he dug a hole and reached the world where people and animals live. After he finished the renovation world, he led the first person to the hole. He sat on the edge of the hole and soon the first woman came out from there. Eventually all members gathered at the foot of the tree and afraid of the world just entering. Khan then began to help the animals leave the hole. In their hunger, some animals found a way to climb over the roots and get out of the branches. They keep running out the world until all animals are gone.

Khan gathered all the people and animals about him. He instructed them to live peacefully together. Then he turned to men and women and warned them not to fire, or there would be a major disaster. They said their words, Kahn left, he was able to see his world in secret

In the evening, the sun began to sink on the horizon. People and animals stand together to see this phenomenon, but as the sun goes away, fear enters the hearts of people. They are no longer able to see each other because they lack the animal's eyes that can be seen in the dark. They also get cold as soon as they lack the warm fur of the animals. In these two myths, animals play an important role. Without them, creation myths would lack major elements; land creation of Iroquois myth and painful creation of Bushman's myths. Their roles represent that animals are necessary in the lives of these people. In Greek mythology, when Pandora was taken to Epimetheus, she was given a box and ordered Zeus not to open. Zeus not only gave her a box, but also gave him curiosity, which was the temptation of her crime. Due to her curiosity about her nature, Pandora took place in the box and all the problems on the planet jumped out of the box. Because of her sin, the whole human race has to suffer. This is the result of human being forced to face Prometheus' fire.

The stories of African Bushman and Iroquois creation resemble each other, but their stories have several different elements. I will explain the similarities and differences between the two stories. These two stories, like all creative stories, have many shared themes. For example, both stories begin with world peace. There is no pain, everyone gets along. Then a bad thing happened. For Bushman, people did not follow Caen. For Iroquois, an empty woman is pregnant and never has happened. In the two stories after this bad thing happened, the world has made a big change.
