African-American vs. black

The word African American was developed in the 1980's, and African-Americans became equivalent to German-American and Italian-American. Although this term was popularized from the 1990s to the early 2000s, today it is thought that it is subjective politically correct, but this is unnecessary in an informal setting. In informal speech and lighting, blacks are usually the first choice and are seldom seen as unpleasant. Ancient terms for people of color, African Americans are now considered uncomfortable and blacks have lost the support of young black Americans.

Be sure to include a hyphen when you use the term "adjective adjective" (for example, African-American woman) as a qualified noun before an African American. If the phrase functions as a noun phrase or an adjective phrase after the change, a hyphen is unnecessary.

As of 2011, blacks are not an unfavorable language for African Americans. For example, these major publications do not hesitate to use black rather than politically correct African Americans:

In contrast, the black population of St. Louis County surrounding the city has increased by 39,000 people. [New York Times]

Black leaders say the people of the black community know that employment plans will benefit them. [Boston Gloves]

Today there is a big black middle class in Washington, but when I first moved to town in the summer of 1961, that was a totally different problem. [Washington Post]

Please note the non-hyphen of the noun phrase "African American" in the second example, in the first and third examples to the hyphen of the adjective African American.

According to Stefan Bradley 's work at Harlem and Columbia University, the power of black students in the late 1960' s showed the power of blacks through the outcome of the protest. The ability of the black income class to tackle issues affecting African Americans, in cooperation with members of the community despite class differences, may be as successful as the Colombian University protest in 1968 .

Most African Americans are Protestant, most of them follow established long-established black churches. The term black church refers to the church's main service to the African-American church. The largest Protestant faction among African Americans is the Baptist faction, which is mainly distributed among the four factions, the largest of which are the American National Baptist Church and the National Baptist Church. The African-American church, also called the Black Church, is the core of the black culture. The black church is a combination of Christian Protestant Christian sects. This includes the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), the African Methodist Church, the Zion Church, the National Baptist Church, and the Church of God in Christ. This connection between the church and the black culture was formed in the slavery era. Because the church provided spiritual support that the slave needed at that time. Religion helps slaves maintain high morale and helps them move forward.
