February 14, 2018 celebrates the 200th birthday of Frederic Douglas' birth. As a slave to Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey born in Maryland, he ran away as a young man and named Douglas. He published several books including his first autobiography, "the story of life in Frederick Douglas."
