In this article, I decided to watch the 14-year-old brother Devin. He went to high school last week. I have not lived in the house any more, so I went out there to go out to observe him with my father. I do not want to tell him what he is doing to make him behave naturally, but after he greets me, he goes upstairs to his bedroom and talks to his friends at the computer I want to. I brought him a laptop downstairs and asked him to visit him when I went with him. I soon realized that his friend was basically the most important thing in his life. I have always known that his friends and his social life are very important for him and other young people, but I do not understand the scope of it.

He is always trying to do something cool or funny. Devin went even further, he thought he was one of the most popular people at school, and told me he was very interested in it. I tried to tell him why it is so important, and the only answer he could come up with is "This is a way to be calm and become someone." To make me sad is that this is the only way he thinks he might be cool at high school.

Basically, everything Devin did in the next hour of observation was related to his friends. He did not stand up from his computer, he went back and forth from his own MySpace to his instant messaging tool. I can not actually pull him or his attention away from his friends.

Adolescence is the most complicated stage of all my other observations. By reading textbooks, I learned that these years are the hardest years people have experienced. With all the changes that occurred during puberty, I was surprised that I actually had it (because it was only two years ago)! Physical change is the most difficult change for young people. As your body changes too much, it is often difficult for young people to have confidence in change. For Mary she is self-conscious about her height and starts using hormones. Many people do not like their appearance at the beginning of puberty, but they begin accepting this change in a positive way. In cognitive development, adolescent young people begin to infer their own thinking and be able to learn concepts better than when young.
