The central government faces more resources to tackle the challenges faced by rural elderly people, but in the times of current fiscal austerity, the local community develops an innovative approach to meet the needs of elderly people I am in the forefront. Many of these initiatives, as described, have captured and used the opinions and contributions of the elderly as assets of rural communities. By doing so, they pointed out the direction of the welfare of rural communities and elderly people.

In the rural areas of the UK, the elderly population is increasing rapidly, and the situation of the elderly is considered to be indispensable for the sustainability of rural communities. The experience of living in the rural area is very diverse and the individual situation is influenced by the background characteristics of the rural community to determine the quality of life for the elderly. The availability and access of key local services and amenity will affect the ability of elderly people to maintain active participants in rural areas.

Older people who live in rural areas or remote areas often encounter difficulties peculiar to their residence. Due to low population density and geographical distance, it is difficult to enter remote areas, especially for public transportation, service provision, and social life. Because of these characteristics, the creation and maintenance of the general integrated services infrastructure (traffic / health / social services / education / information / communication / retail / culture) common in urban areas is more difficult and expensive. The low level of economic activity in rural areas also restricts the choice of service providers. There are differences between urban and rural areas to access services and activities, and the rural population of the elderly becomes disadvantageous in many ways
