People claim that drug poisoning is a disease or an option. Today, I will discuss this discussion and would like to better understand why this topic is so controversial. In my research, I can easily find information on this topic, but I still do not know if an answer was found.

The biggest argument is that dependence is a choice, not a disease. On the other side of the discussion, they insist on the opposition. According to an information source on the Internet called "alcohol and drugs: concept of drug abuse and poisoning", the idea that drugs and alcohol are diseases is "controversial controversial topic".

For the purposes of this article, I must agree that drug addiction is an option. People are getting high and they want to drink, so it is addictive if you do not pay attention. The research I found about this particular topic seems to have received the most support and facts to refute the idea that addiction is sick. If there is sufficient evidence to support the idea that poisoning is sick, I think this is not a controversial topic.

According to a website called "St. Jude Retreat House", alcoholism and drug addiction can avoid these types of behaviors and are not sick as they can help change these behaviors.

Drug dependence and alcohol dependence are known to be transmitted through genetics, but there is no concrete evidence that I discovered this to prove that it is sick.

In a book entitled "Therapeutic Drug Abuse, Theory and Techniques, 2nd Edition", "The first of this disease model may be the most controversial and what you call" medicinal consequence model " it can. This sentence seems to say that it was given a common name as its subject is too controversial and there is not enough medical evidence available

Certainly drugs and alcohol can cause disease but will it make illness sick? Probably this topic is controversial for understanding of lack of knowledge and drug addiction.

In a website called 'addiction is a chronic disease', the source compares diabetes and cancer to support their belief that drug addiction is a chronic disease. No additional support is provided on this site and no examples are provided.

The grounds for addiction are controversial. Experts consider it a sick or a choice. One model is called an addictive disease model. The second model is a selection model for addiction. Studies have shown that addictive processes are like disease models, target organs are brain, certain defects, and symptoms of disease. Addiction is like choosing a model that includes genetic disorders, rewards, memory, stress, and choices. Both models lead to forced behavior

Whether addiction is an option or illness has long been controversial. Some addict think that they make a bad choice, and quitting their dependence is a matter of motivation. Some people think poisoning is a disease that affects the brain, but it is difficult to quit unless there is specialized support by an addiction treatment expert. Believing that addiction is sick is not a new concept. In fact, Dr. Benjamin Rush stated that this condition is a disorder that doctors must treat for 1784 two centuries ago. For the first time in the 1930s, Bill Wilson and that time did not actually catch this idea. Dr. Bob Smith established Alcoholics Anonymous. The ancestors of AA did not have medical knowledge or skills to fully understand what doctors do today but their literature treats alcoholism as a spiritual, physical, or mental illness I will. Today, most medical professionals agree on an addictive disease model.

So, is poisoning a choice or illness? The American Medical Association and the World Health Organization recognize drug addiction such as alcoholism, nicotine, drug addiction as a disease. In my opinion, this is a serious life-threatening disease that will ultimately lead to death if left untreated.
