Maintaining public confidence and confidence is extremely important for the effectiveness of emergency management professionals. Members of the International Emergency Management Association (IAEM) comply with the highest standards of ethical and vocational behavior. This IAEM member's ethical and professional code of conduct reflects the spiritual and legitimate behavior of social conscience and the commitment to the happiness of all people. Members will respect the respect of the association, dedication, and core values of professionalism.
There are many guides and publications on emergency response plans issued by specialized organizations such as ASIS, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the International Emergency Management Association (IAEM). There are very few specific standards for emergency management, and emergency management as discipline is often the standard of business flexibility. Emergency managers should try to identify and predict potential risks in order to avoid or reduce serious loss to the project. In the event of an emergency situation, management needs to reduce the impact of emergency situations and develop plans to ensure business continuity of important businesses after the incident. The organization shall include procedures to determine whether emergency has occurred and when to start the emergency management plan.
According to Mitzel (2007), an accredited emergency manager is an individual who can process and manage an integrated management plan according to the rules set by the International Emergency Management Association (IAEM). This program extends to security institutions and non-profit organizations, so it is not limited to local governments and educational institutions. There are several emergency situations caused by job related incidents and an emergency administrator is needed to handle such incidents. In addition, emergency managers need to receive high-quality training and be certified so that they can deal with familiar emergency situations reliably.
