Academic Libraries in the Early Years of the Cold War, 1946-1956

The Cold War is usually considered to be a period between 1947 and 1991, and there is tension between the two superpowers of the world, the Soviet Union and the United States. Because the large battle between the countries was missing, it was considered a "Cold War" and this period had a large internal influence on domestic policies. These new policies are designed to protect citizens and ensure their loyalty. Unfortunately, the results of these patriotic policies have had a negative impact on many public libraries and academic libraries.

The Cold War is not a violent war but a remark that started in 1946. The competition, tension and conflict between the Soviet Union and the United States is a symbol of this war.
