As a fourth-generation American, Mason was born in Virginia in 1725. When Mason was only ten, his father drowned in the accident. Mother Ann Thompson Mason left three children. George is the eldest son. His mother is a very capable woman and continues to run families in an efficient and informative way. In 1750, Mason married Ann Arbek. He is 24 years old, only 16 years old. When she died with fever in 1773, Mason left nine children. Mason is a faithful and responsible father who is very interested in their growth and education. He has not wanted to leave them for a long time. This is one of the most pressing reasons he refused to run for political job.
