A Woman's Right to Decide

Abortion is defined as the end of pregnancy, it is a very controversial topic. Fierce debate about legalization and limits on abortion has been on for many years. During the women's rights movement from 1848 to 1920, women not only gained the same rights as other people, but also had trouble fighting for contraception and reproductive rights (ushistory.org). Contraceptives were introduced in the 1960's, and women finally could suppress pregnancy (ushistory.org).

Traditionally, in our campaign the term "prochoice" was always an abbreviation for respecting individual women's "decisions". In the center of discussion about abortion, when everything else is deprived, the inevitable question is as follows. There seems to be no debate as to how people exercise their personal choices. People are not living in a vacuum, not men or women - islands. For most people, it is clear that all decisions (not just copying decisions) occur in our lives; choice of options is limited to possible choices. It may not be possible for me. Sometimes we make a choice we do not want to - but we still make a decision. Let's think about William Styron's novel "Sophie's Choice". The mother was forced to choose which kid to kill.

We hope that all women and girls can realize the right stipulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We also represent other rights essential to women's equality. We decide whether or not a woman will give birth and when we will give birth and insist on receiving high quality medical care. We know that female genitomy is a violation of girl's rights and must be eliminated. We insist that all women have the right to live in an equitable position without discrimination regardless of sexual orientation or identity.
