When I came to the colony of New York, it was originally established by Peter Minu It, settled along the Haddon River in 1624, it was a Dutch colony called New Amsterdam. Slavery is just roughly summarized. The slaves were prosecuted in the district court, trained among the militia, participated in the Indian war, and married in the Dutch Reformed Church.
