A Teacher Who Changed My Life

Three very strong women - my mother, my grandmother, and Melinda - should receive a lot of honor (or it is a blame) to help me become a man of today. However, Blanche Kaffeel, a very kind librarian and teacher, has never published before and has had a great impact.

Mrs. Caffiere (pronounced "kaff-ee-AIR") died shortly after her 100-year-old birthday in 2006. Before she left, I got an opportunity to stimulate my passion for learning when she was easily closed to school, thanking her for her important role in my life.

When I first met Mrs. Caffiere, she was an elegant and engaging school librarian at Seattle's View Ridge elementary school. I was a cowardly fourth grade student. There are some major defects such as cruel handwritten characters (experts call this "dysgraphia") and funny messy tables, so I'd like to desperately ignore it. I tried to hide the fact that I like to read books - which is cool for girls but not cool for boys.

Mrs. Caffiere took me under her wings and helped me become a nerd having a lot of books, a nasty boy.

She shared her love for the book and pulled me out of the shell. The question she first asked was "what do you like to read" and "what are you interested in?" Then she found a lot of books. For example, she gave me some nice career I read. When I finish reading them, she will take time to discuss them with me. "Do you like it?" She will ask. "What did you learn?" She really listened to what I said. We became best friends through dialogue in libraries and classrooms.

Teachers often do not want to increase the burden of reading for students beyond the assignments assigned. But I learned from my wife Caffiere that my teacher has more knowledge to share. I just need to ask. Beyond high school students, I often ask teachers what books I like, read it if I have time, and come up with my idea.

Looking back now, my time with Mrs. Kaffie is certain to help stimulate interest in my library (Melinda and my first major effort to charity). The important thing is to help all children in America benefit from an excellent teacher. I basically trace our basics and go back to articles about the illness of children in poor countries who died long ago in the United States. However, I should honor librarians and teachers who found my advantage when I was 9 years old. It is old. It is worth noting how much power a good person can shape to shape a child's life.

My teacher who changed my life was Jim Bowers. And it also taught at Guildford High School. Jim is a social research teacher at my second grade GHS. He turned to the concept of community services, especially politics, which effectively changed my way of life. Thanks to him, I began to understand that I can change the world through government services. This is a concept I have never thought of before, it is the concept I have been advocating since and has led me through every step of my life.

I changed my life, a high school teacher in St. Petersburg, Florida, Ginny LaBrant in Virginia. When I met her, I was a senior and I needed a linguistics course to complete my major. This course was not offered for two semesters. In order to satisfy my need, the university hired a teacher who provided me with necessary guidance throughout the semester. The teacher is Ginny, and that guidance is the beginning of lifelong friendship. For all the students that she teaches, I have learned a lot by teaching, learning and experiencing her interest in compassion. Ginny is always kind and sincere to her students, she is always sensitive to the needs of all the students. The relationship between her and her students is what I long for today. She generously uses her time to show compassion for students, parents and associates. She is a very effective teacher and has earned high trust from local communities as an educator.

When asked to identify a teacher who changed my life, I felt it was impossible to do it suddenly. When I think of all the teachers I attended from law school from elementary school, I have to say that most teachers have some influence on me. As an exercise to meet GFFE, I tried to remember the names of all the teachers I had. Even after years, you surely have it. More importantly, I remember all these things being positive. This is very important for all of my teachers.
