War arouses many emotions and feelings of many people. Some people are drafted and forced to serve, some people volunteered their lives for reasons they believe, and some people have never seen the battlefield. Some people are alive, dead, people arrested and become prisoners or hostages. But one who has actually seen war knows that there is a possibility of change in warfare and in most cases it is so one thing is certain. In Frank O'Connor's "Guest of the Country", two British soldiers were occupied by the Irish republic's army.

"National customers" is Frank O'Connor 's story about the young Irish soldiers fighting for responsibility and conscience. The protagonist Bonaparte has to choose between his duty as his soldier and his conscience as a friend of a British prisoner he was ordered to perform. In a dark Irish swamp, Bonapart performed his mission and participated in enforcement, and he lamented his behavior. O'Connor revealed the domestic conflict and dynamics of Bonaparte using the independent Irish environment.
