One of the most mature experiences of my childhood was reading. My mother has often read it to me since my infancy. The book she first read for me was The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. The book features a small boy, Peter and records his expedition through his neighbor after a cold winter snowfall. One of my best memories of reading "Snowy Day" is that the aesthetic of this book fascinated me. The sharp detail of each page covers the text, makes the text lively and passes through each scene as if I were next to Peter. However, it surprised me further that the main character of this book, Peter, looks and feels like me. Like me, he is a young black boy. He is very interested like me.
