A School Board's Control Over Teacher's Book Selections

Three novels, "Great Gatsby", "Killing a Robin" and "Purple Purple" are considered classic, but these books and other books are considered inappropriate depending on the school district. In these districts, books are not only regulated, but also teachers have chosen these books. Over the years, this provision has been established for teachers through litigation and multiple school districts. Teacher's book selection and lesson plans are taught by government representatives and students can establish a neutral learning environment and follow the curriculum within the district.

Over the past decade, I have been involved in banning public schools, students 'reading rights, teacher educational rights, and parents' choice of text selection. Meanwhile, I have tried to understand honestly the idea of ​​American citizens who have violently attacked certain literary works that have been widely accepted as a focus suitable for classroom learning. I am paying special attention to frequent and uncompromising attacks on several young adult novels. Over the years, this type has been considered "safe" as teachers of middle and older age have attempted to introduce the general serious literature, especially the essence and value of the novel, to students in the early teens.

When all the people working at my nearest school recommended to read at least one book in the summer, the principal advised me to serve. Therefore, I chose books to appeal to teachers with different grade or interest, but they urged schools to be more enterative, creative, child-centered, genuine and project-based . The Board of Education and the teachers are responsible for protecting the students' thinking and covering the age-appropriate teaching materials.
