In O'Henry's reform after reform, Jimmy Valentine is a former member who reformed his approach after meeting with Annabel Adams, a banker's daughter in the town of Elmore, Arkansas. Jimmy plays a new name, Ralph Spencer, to start a new criminal-free life. But when he used rescue techniques to save Agatha, life was almost at risk. Ben Price Detective tested Jimmy's rescue and decided not to arrest Jimmy, but he called him by his new name.
There are many conflicts in "A Retrieved Reformation", but the main conflict is always the final question. In this case, this is "reform" of Jimmy Valentin. The conflict that struggled for the majority of the story was whether Jimmy / Ralph was a rookie and whether to choose to live "direct life" at the beginning. Initially he did not choose and soon returned to his criminal form. But he soon met Adams and he learned that he started living in a narrow, narrow cause. He has been doing this for a while. Some people may argue that his last use of his security cracking skills might indicate that he is still a criminal and may be willing to make the wrong choice. But why he used these skills (saving a small girl) suggests that he did a real reform.
