A Red Light District on Every Corner

Throughout human history, most civilizations regard prostitution as illegal transaction, but this does not necessarily mean prostitution is illegal. Many countries, including the US, are beginning to discuss the advantages of legalizing prostitution. Before making such an important decision, several problems must be solved. Legislating prostitution will alleviate some of the inequality and abuse of the concerned men and women. Society will lose decades of progress in human rights and will increase the status of women by legalizing prostitution.

Geylang is Singapore's famous red line district. Every day, from prostitutes to prostitutes from Thailand, Malaysia, China. Because sex is a basic human being, legitimate red light district is necessary to provide basic sexual satisfaction to men. As there is no sexual behavior, men have an appropriate way to solve the problem. They do not need to rape others. Rape is a crime and most victims have undergone greater psychological trauma.
