A Reading of George Herbert’s "Easter Wings"

George Herbert 's Easter Wings convey religious messages of hope and redemption in very elaborate verses. In the first part of the poem, the speaker talks about God, creates and gives many things to mankind, and now loses all these things through mankind and is now in a state of collapse and poverty. The speaker asks if he stands up like a bird and joins the Lord and wants to sing the victory of God and the victory of his glory. Through all these, the speaker will develop further in his flight.

Herbert's "Easter Wings" is a tribute to the medieval lyrics from collectors, "Transformed Swedes" (1523). The first emblem poem which was recorded in English.
