Over the years, people have tried to come up with solutions that threaten the epidemic. There was a famine in Ireland that put out many dead. Poor people in Ireland can not support their families, so they are taking extreme measures. To survive, women and children are forced to ask for food to make them not starved. Jonathan Swift proposed an epidemic solution with a discreet proposal. Swift said the poor in Ireland should sell her child as a cow, or better ought to eat his own child.
"If you ignore the historical contents of the discreet proposal, you will misunderstand it." Discussion. A modest proposal was announced or named the name "a modest proposal to prevent Ireland poor children and put a burden on their parents or states and make them beneficial to the public". Most landlords in Ireland claimed ridiculous rents to poor lessors, and in 1729 Jonathan Swift published an article called "Humble Proposal". It includes homeless in poor families. His ironic proposal to control the population of his homeless children caused his moral debate about his proposal. William S. Burroughs published a novel called "Nude Lunch" in 23 years, 1959.
In this modest proposal, the narrator of "discreet proposal" will continue to propose all ways in which such a system works. He believes that all the poor families have a price, I believe that mothers are happy to sell their children in 8 shillings after having carried it with it. (Wealthy people in the Swift era) The entire economy benefits and the problem of population and poverty is solved. The state is no longer responsible for the welfare of these poor children, and Ireland no longer depends on the UK. He also suggested that the Irish people are not necessarily victims - because of personal economic interests they will "sell" their families and agree with such an unpleasant offer
Jonathan Swift, author of a satirical "discreet proposal" and another article "humble suggestion", came up with various ideas to change the situation in Ireland. Through his proposal, he was able to draw people's attention, and he used his irony way through the article to make his argument more successful. He wrote this article and shows how much Irish and its social class situation was neglected and worse. In 'discreet proposal', Swift uses rhetorical exaggeration effectively to express.
