This is a moving grandmother of A Year Down Yonder and A Long Way who came from Chicago in 1958. This interesting and moving book is talked about by a 12-year-old newcomer, Bob Barnhart, but his interest in the new town is not high, he may be fascinated by the new neighbor and may be a bit scary.
