A Journey to Equality: The LGBT Movement

"Our people today are the most obvious truth - we are all equal - but it is the star that leads us, just as it leads our ancestors through Seneca Falls, Selma, Stonewall It is announced. President Obama told these words in front of over 20 million Americans in the inaugural speech on 21 January 2013. Seneca waterfall, Selma and Stonewall. These three places represent the forefront of three different social movements that have changed the history of the United States - three local activists had a hard time achieving change and justice.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered (LGBT) social movement is a social move supporting LGBT + society people. Social movement focuses on equal rights such as equality movement of marriage in the 2000s and sometimes focuses on liberation like gay release movement in the 1960s and 1970s. Early campaigns focused on self-help and self-recognition, such as the homosexual movement in the 1950s. There are no major or general central organizations that represent all LGBT + population and its interests, but many LGBT rights organizations are active worldwide. The first organization supporting LGBT + rights was founded in the 19th century.

Today, in almost every country, you will find the LGBT grassroots movement. However, more and more LGBT people are used as pawns for political interests on families and traditional issues. In some countries we have had some success with the LGBT equality struggle, but in other parts of the world progress is even more difficult. Mr. Houdart: We tend to concentrate on headlines and violent incidents, but these events are of course terrible, but there is a bigger problem: the desperation of LGBT people to experience in "hostile environments" . In more forgiving places and other parts of the world, the gap between lesbian, gay and transgender people is expanding and this gap is unsustainable.

In my opinion, grassroots radicalism is the most important factor in promoting the LGBT 's equality movement. The campaign was conveyed to our family and friends and was influenced by the achievement of our truth. However, President Obama 's leadership has changed this completely, and President Obama has always been a pioneer of change as regards the equality of our country, especially LGBT. I was scared because I always knew who I am. I grew up in the south in the 1980s as a teenager. But today, I will not trade who I am. Gay brings me the love of life and we have created this wonderful family together. Two children, I am very proud today.
