This course is about Western Europe during the Renaissance. It is intended to provide a comprehensive introduction to the overall history of the Renaissance, but it focuses on the history of the Renaissance High Cultural Center, Northern Italy and the Burgundian Lowlands. The theme of the course is the emergence of modern Western European countries for 250 years, showing the late Middle Ages and the beginning of the present age. In addition to studying the political development of Italian city state and then the Nordic dynastic monarchy, we also studied the political thought of this period and eventually formed the work of Niccolo Machiavelli.
Also known as "Rinascimento" (Italian), the Renaissance is an influential cultural movement that brought about scientific revolution and artistic transformation at the dawn of contemporary European history. It shows the transition period from the end of the Middle Ages to the beginning of the present age. The Renaissance was generally thought to have started in Italy in the 14th century and in northern Europe in the 16th century. Many of the foundations of liberalism humanisms were built during that foundation. For a person, this robbed God's legal status and authority of history as the author of value. But the positive thing is that the modern universal view, the respect for the dignity of all people on which democracy depends, the desire for knowledge, and the way to improve human lives arise from the Renaissance and the subsequent enlightenment.
