A High School Student's Opinion of Poetry

Viewpoints of high school students' poetry When planning a way to teach poetry in the classroom, the student's view of poetry is very important. In this article, Jon C. Mladic and Douglas R. Pietrzak investigated creative writing courses in high schools in general cities in the state of Illinois (10th to 12th grade) and described the views on their poetry. They extensively studied the perceptions and experiences of students' poetry, and the things they like to teach. They also interviewed creative writing class teachers to gather her views.

There are some small exceptions to this irritated school and poetry picture. In the United States there is a nationwide program called Poetry Out Loud that puts a small number of high school students in poetry. This can be used at individual schools and is scheduled to be held for several weeks in autumn.
