A Cultural Celebration: Las Posadas

Las Posadas is a Mexican holiday just like the American Christmas. It started in Spain and lasted nine days. This holiday begins on December 16 and ends on December 24. It is also a forgiving holiday, but most people in Mexico celebrate it. It was thought that the national holiday began in the 16th century by "St. Ignatius of Mexico Loyola or Julio Pedro deganto". In Mexico, there is a tradition of painting candles in the color of paper. Then they will have a candle in the lamp shade and go out to sing a song, Joseph and Mary will be approved and allowed to enter the world.

Las Posadas is a celebration of Hispanic Americans mainly from Latin America, Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, and the USA from December 16th to December 24th (9 days religious ceremony). Las Posadas is celebrated by people acknowledging Latin American and Hispanic and Mexican and Spanish culture and vacation. Las Posadas is a Spanish accommodation, in this case the hotel of the Nativity Narvest. It uses plural form as a nine-day celebration during Christmas period (it is called Novena). Novena is nine months pregnant on behalf of Mary, Mary is the mother of Jesus, celebrated by Christians.

Las Posadas is a religious tradition mainly celebrated in Mexico, but it is typical of the American immigrant community. This is a parade and reproduction of a trip to Joseph and Mali's Bethlehem. Typically, you will visit several homes that need accommodation, including reading the scriptures and Carol at each site. Reproduction of Las Posadas is a way for immigrant communities to express their faith and communicate by celebrating the birth of Christ. It also respects the resilience of the Holy Family that can be recognized when asking for asylum in the United States as they need to leave their country of immediate pretext.

In many Mexican villages, the community gathers and participates in "La Posadas". La Posadas is a nine-day celebration from December 16th to Christmas Eve. Every night two members of the village were chosen to represent Mary, the mother of the virgin of Jesus, and the husband Joseph. Everyone wears clothes as part of the Nativity scene, and the neighbor's house alternates while playing the hotel. In some villages, this parade will be held every evening - in other villages only Christmas Eve
