A Comparison of the American Dream in Death of a Salesman and A Raisin in the Sun

How do dreams value of salesman's death and rain under the sun appreciate dreams? This problem occurred while reading the deaths of Arthur Miller salesman and Lorraine Hansbury raisins under the sun. Although the two novels are very different, there are many similarities between the story and the character. The death of a salesman involves family difficulties in dealing with unfulfilled dreams. Rain under the sun is focused on the fight against family common dreams. In each story there is a conflict between the dreams of each character they try to achieve.

Miller salesman's death and raisins under the sun presented "Family efforts and frustration pursuing American dreams" (Curtain 115). Everyone's dream is totally different. Walter, raisin's hero under the sun is another Willie who is striving to achieve his version of the American dream. In their attempt to realize their dream, Willy and Walter have shown that they are in common in some sense. According to a social survey by Alister Bull, "While the United States can still regard it as a place of opportunity, the possibility of living in poverty is much lower than the rest of the world" (BBS). America's dream is just an illusion. This is an illusion of the future opportunity.

Historically, there were countless theatrical productions, but only two of them captured the dreams of raisins and American dreams like salespeople under the sun completely. In these two plays, the master is trying to achieve American dreams, but it is almost impossible if they are not respected by their bosses and the surrounding people. To my surprise, when they have a time difference of more than 10 years, the two different plays can be very parallel to each other. Both Miller and Lorraine created the theme of achieving goals, Willy Loman wanted only to win the respect of the surrounding people, Walter Younger soon wanted to get rich and support his family .
