Comparison of Impressionists and Post-Impressionists In this article, we compare two art movement, Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. I will focus on the work of the two main artists of these styles, Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh. Impressionist movement is often considered the beginning of modern art era. It was developed in France in the late nineteenth century. Impressionists movements arise from discontent with classical and dull themes and clear and accurate painting techniques.

Post-Impressionists are used to describe Impressionist reactions of the 1880's. PaulCézanne, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Georges Seurat are leading. The post-Impressionists refused the impression of the natural and natural expression of light and color by Impressionists. Instead, they tend to emphasize more symbolic content, formal ordering and structure. But like the Impressionist painters, they emphasize the artificiality of the paintings. Post-Impressionists are not official sports or style. The post-impressionist is an independent artist at the end of the 19th century, opposed to the limitations of Impressionists. They developed a range of personal styles that focused on emotional, structural, symbolic, and spiritual elements that they were missing in printmaking. Their common contribution will constitute the artistic roots of contemporary art for the next 80 years. Impressionists are the first movements in contemporary art classics. As with most revolutionary styles, it is gradually absorbed into the mainstream, and its limitations frustrate future generations.
