A Commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the CRC

In 1989, world leaders decided that children needed special meetings, while adults did not, while people under the age of 18 needed special consideration and protection . Leaders also want the world to recognize that children also have human rights. The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is the first legally binding international document designed to incorporate various human rights, including civic, cultural, economic, political and social rights.

This treaty is almost universally accepted and is currently approved (beyond the United Nations) by 193 Parties or has agreed to the Geneva Convention.

The provisions and principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child advocate for the protection of the rights of children and to support children in meeting the basic needs and expanding the opportunities to reach maximum potential, I will lead UNICEF.

The Convention prescribes these rights in Article 54 and the two Optional Protocols. It clarifies the basic human rights of children all over the world: right to life; full development; protection from harmful effects, abuse and exploitation; and complete participation in family, culture and social life. The four basic principles of the Convention are indiscriminate, dedicated to the best interests of children, rights to life, rights to life and rights to development, respect for children's views.

All the rights stipulated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child are inherent in harmonious development with the dignity of each child. This Convention protects the rights of children through health standards, education, and development of legal, civic and social services.
