A Child's Understanding of the Poem, The Children's Hour

Through children's reading, I think that the meaning of the long fellow's poem "When I am a child" is different. This is a poem that the child chooses to recite, as the nursery song system is constant and its length is somewhat short. Length is important for children as it is not easy to remember if you can choose what a child can cast. As this poem tells the title of the child, it will first appeal to the child. It is equally attractive as it includes a rhyming plan that can be easily "sung" by children.

The basis of this poem is that words are not used, but the speaker is still a child. Therefore, all of Black 's relationships with children' s image lies in the context of this poem and affects understanding it. The fact that words are not used means that even if society has forgotten this, this has to remind ourselves that this is what children are talking about. For their own society and themselves, they are serious sweepers, not children, this is the heart of their dilemma. Black attacked the devout hope of the comfort of the future of heaven, and some Christians claimed this hope as a way to avoid unfair reality of corruption and exploitation. Because of the promise of happiness and the loss of all suffering in the next world, this teaches people to accept current pain and injustice. For black people, this is a distorted view of a fallen man.

Black poetry creates famous questions about child labor in the real world. The way black describes child's pain and bad living situation drew the attention of many readers. Poems were created to enact legislation prohibiting child labor. Like the UK, there are many places in the world that are working on laws targeting child labor, like the United States. In UK law, age restrictions are set for children to start work. Children must clean once a week and fire can not be cleaned. This act indicates the beginning of a long struggle to end child labor.

Child labor is a cruel act involving making children start working again. The poet William Blake lives in such a severely accepted era and sees it as something true. In his poem, black showed child labor in a chimney. The poem is centered on two people, a narrator and a boy named Tom. The narrator is a boy who sold him when he was young. Tom is a child in the same situation, but he has a strange dream. - On the other hand, if you are an adult, if they lose their limbs, the work force at the factory weakens and you do not need to continue working. At that time, the factory could not bear the cost of adult workers, so the children were used as a source of income. Unlike adults, children have no choice but to work, they have to accept the fact that they have worked for 15 hours and have little compensation.
