A Case Against School Uniforms in China

It is necessary for 95% of Chinese students in primary school, junior high school and high school to unite. Almost all the students studying in public schools have school uniform requirements. This article explains why students need uniforms. In fact, if you ask students to wear uniforms, problems may arise. In this article, I will first describe the benefits of wearing uniforms, followed by a general description of uniforms in China. Finally, I will come up with a solution proposal that wearing uniforms should be optional.

Uniforms are a common part of Chinese schools. For almost all secondary schools and several elementary schools, students are obliged to wear uniforms. Mainland uniforms usually consist of 5 sets. Two formal suits and three sets of daily suits. Formal suit is worn on Monday or special day (anniversary, awards ceremony etc.). There are white collar shirts with sweaters, girl skirts, boy suit and so on. There are formal suits in summer and suit in winter. Daily uniforms for winter boys usually include zipper sweaters, trousers, collared shirts (usually white). Please wear thin materials in spring and autumn, short pants and trousers in summer. Girls 'daily uniforms are very similar to boys' uniforms. Although this trend has been fluctuating in recent years, it is relatively common to post some sponsored advertisements on some unofficial school uniform shirts.

Most Vietnamese schools need uniforms, uniform rules vary by school and region. The most common type of uniform is a white shirt with a school logo on the left sleeve, black / black trousers, and a red scarf for students from the third to ninth grade. Such uniforms are common in public schools and rural areas in northern Vietnam, and there is no difference in the uniform between boys and girls. However, many schools (private or famous public schools) have their own uniforms, often in lieu of girls' skirts or including bows, ties, vests / blazers.
