A Brief History of San Jose State Univeristy

A brief introduction to the history of San Jose State University, formally known as San Jose State University in 1857, founded by San Jose State University in San Francisco instead of San Jose. Minn's Evening Normal School was named after George W. Minns, a principal specializing in elementary school teacher education. By the end of the 1860's, the principal William Thomas fortunately thought of this as "promoting participation by finding the school's best interest and a more quiet and unattractive place" (Nellen, 2011) .

JM: I am the fourth resident of San Jose. As I grow, my grandfather will tell me the history of San Jose and a story about the life he grew up here. When I started exploring the city on my own, I learned that many of the places and things my grandfather said was gone or abandoned. Over time, the places and things that inspired the story began to disappear under the name of reconstruction and reuse, or because they became victims of arson. Then I started shooting them with a one time camera to record the situation. When taking more pictures, I have more interest in photography and decided to teach myself.

On December 9, 2014, I attended the meeting of San Jose City Council at San Jose City Hall. The subject of discussion was San Jose's affordable housing problem. There are about 5,000 homeless people in San Jose. There are also thousands of waiting lists for affordable housing, some of them use more than 50% of their daily income for rent or risk losing their home.
