A Brief History of Ancient Greek Architecture

Greek architecture is one of the earliest architectural styles. It is also one of the major pioneers of some modern architecture that we see today. There are still few Greek masterpieces remaining to date, but they are still masterpieces. The architectural style is used for decoration and construction. Greek architecture is not only charm and decoration, but also an original way and style for architecture, but Greek architecture is derived from Cretan formed by Durian, so it is a Doric column.

The ancient Greek civilization was one of the most advanced societies in history. They are successful in countless fields including art, music, government, economics and architecture. Today, many of our buildings are based on Greek people from government buildings to their homes. Their use of pillars is one of the greatest structural achievements of the ancient world, which is still widely used. Gable, ribbon, geometric shape, symmetry and pillars are part of the general elements of Greek architecture. Religion has had a great influence on the development and purpose of architecture; the most famous Greek building is the Parthenon temple, an ancient temple. The architecture of ancient Greece contains some of the most useful, aesthetically pleasing elements, many of which are still used today.

When we think about the architecture of ancient Greece, we usually refer to a temple building (or other public building, not a house). The proportions of ancient Greek temples, pillars, urns and gables are usually decorated with relief sculptures. These elements give a unique personality to the architecture of ancient Greece. Ancient Greek architects usually mentioned three orders: Dorian, Ion, and Collins. The difference is primarily in the shape of the pillars and the decoration of the dragonfly. The Doric Order features a pedestal and a simple capital, and alternating triangles and wall openings. The sequence of ions includes columns with bases, capital letters scrolls, and stereotaxic sculptures (sculptures or left side faces). Collins's order features narrow pillars on delicate capital letters shaped like antique blades.

The ancient Greeks have a unique architectural style still being replicated in government buildings and major monuments around the world. Greek architecture is known for its tall columns, complex details, symmetry, harmony, balance. The Greeks built various buildings. The main example of the now surviving Greek architecture is the big temple they built for their God. The Greeks built most temples and government buildings, and were divided into three types: Dolrick, Aeon and Collins. These styles (also called "orders") are reflected in the type of columns you use. Most columns have grooves called grooves on both sides. This gives the pillar a feeling of depth and balance.
