2018 Lombok earthquake

The 2018 Lombok Earthquake means the following five impulsive earthquakes, including the epicenter in the northern part of Rinjani Volcano, resulting in major damage and death.

On 5 August 2018, the northeastern part of Lombok Island experienced a magnitude 0 earthquake, after which other small earthquakes continued in the same region. The first report shows the damage to buildings in Lombok, Gili Islands and Bali. They announced that normal operation will be resumed within a few hours afterwards. The government immediately shut down Mount Rinjanyi National Park. Hiking and other activities in this area are forbidden because there is a fear of landslides. Indonesian President Jokowido, who is planning to visit West Nusa Tenggara before the earthquake ordered Governor Nishi Nasatengara, Mohamed Zauren Majdi to instantly locate search and rescue personnel in the afflicted area.
