1954, the Year of Firsts

In 1954, it is not often a person who comes to mind unless he really lived in the meantime. Even this year is not the most memorable but during this period there were many major events in American history. Many other events occurred in 1954, but the best four represents an amazing ability for Americans to change the world. The first successful kidney transplantation announced the decision of the education Brown Five Board; Texas Instruments invented the first practical transistor radio to change the electronics industry; the first nuclear submarine was completed.

On January 1, 1954, the first nationwide color broadcasting (1954 Rose Parade Championship) took place in the United States. For the next 10 years most webcasts and almost all local shows will remain black and white. In the fall of 1965, color transition period was announced. More than half of the online prime time program will be broadcast in color during that period. One year later, the first full color prime time has arrived. In 1972, the last time of daytime network was converted to color, the first full color network season began.

In 1954, America was changing rapidly. Republican President Eisenhower is the first term. Eisenhower announced to the world that the United States actually developed the first hydrogen bomb two years ago and succeeded in testing. Mamie Eisenhower named Nautilus Nautilus the first submarine for nuclear power generation. - The gap year is the year before the students graduate from high school and before the students enter the university. Sometimes students accept gap between grade. For many students who graduate from high school, the gap year provides the most popular break, but it may be frustrating for others, depending on timing and management of time.
