Karla Ximena Leyte Professor John Crossley Short Story 2nd November 20, 2015 Dear Tony Morrison's reconstruction of our past darlings is a historical reconstruction of the African-American perspective from literature . In many cases, it is implicit or absent. Her novel shows the horror of slavery and the cruel expression of its emotional and psychological impact on the African American community. It reveals the reality of slavery, where "beloved" is a novel that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize, published by Toni Morrison and published in 1987. The story talks about Sethi as she tried to achieve peace with her gift (for her, after her American Civil War) and its past. "Gracious" as a slave and her atrocities in the hands of the Gardner family. From various points of view, multiple roles and different periods provide information to the reader, her viewers can summarize family history and their lives.
After completing this section, we began to study rebuilding. To fill the gap between the end of the civil war and the rebuilding effect on black Americans I will use PBS 's first episode "Rise and Fall of Jim Ravens". I chose this film series, it provides an example of resistance that many blacks are doing, covering nearly the whole period of concern for larger units, facing almost ruthless white hegemony I do. For homework and supplements, students will read the summary of reconstruction in Howard Jin's American people's history. This resource has been chosen because it is written for simplicity, themes, and levels that students can easily access.
All students compare the descriptions written by others from various angles and rebuild the past by creating stories from evidence. History is not a series of facts moving toward a steady conclusion. The written history is a component of human beings, the conclusion about the past is temporary and controversial. It is necessary to analyze and explain documents, notes of witnesses, letters, diaries, artifacts, photos, historical sites, and other past fragments. Trustworthy reconstruction of the past compares explanations that reveal multiple perspectives using various records. People can participate in "history" by evaluating historical stories written by others, or by creating stories by editing, analyzing, and interpreting evidence. (Michigan State Course Framework, 1996)
