"What Freedom Means to Me" Essay Selected in Local Contest

Goodland Elks Lodge hosted a local essay contest for middle school students. Students were asked to write a theme "What is freedom" in English classes of Mrs. Gibson. Clarice Neisel, 8th grade at St. Francis elementary school, wrote an article and was chosen as one of the first three papers in the local contest. The first three papers will be sent for regional review. Regional winners will receive US savings bonds. Congratulations, Claris!

Have you thought about the meaning of freedom? For me, freedom means learning from my mistakes. If I have no freedom, I must be the highest authority to tell me what to do at all times. I have no room for errors, so it will be hard to learn life.

Freedom means that there is also time to do the right thing. In this case, having no freedom means that I do not have time to think wonderfully. I have to do very accurate and quick things. When there is no freedom, I always feel pressure. I am exposed to such tremendous pressure, but it makes life more nervous.

The last example that freedom meant to me is the ability to do a lot of things without being forced to do anything. Freedom means that I may have to reluctantly join the army. I may occupy a quarter of the army and be forced to see them occupy my house! If I am not free, I may need to get married when I was young and start a family I do not want to do at my age. What I drew freedom from my life is the same as being dominated by everything. When I have no freedom, I can not do anything other than the strict laws that tell me what to do.

In short, we are lucky to enter a free society. Remember, we are freedom and brave place of the house!

We are the eldest of American citizens. Freedom has a very special meaning to me. I know how much it costs for liberty. It is not without high cost. All other men, women and children settle down every evening as other Americans have arranged their lives for them at some point. I know this because I lost my father in Iraq on May 2, 2004. He was sent from a navy sailor to help rebuild the country. When their camp was forced, he was killed with his six comrades. I will never forget the day when the navy's chief and pastor appeared on my front door.

Every year, our local high school hosts a drama contest. My son very much hopes that his entry will be chosen this year. As soon as the game was announced, he began writing a drama about her abducted daughter. He showed it to his friends. Their reaction is not warm. He showed me that. I proposed several suggestions. On that night of the show, when I asked the audience who is thinking where the drama came from, I wanted to tell you that this is the other two plays he wrote. If he has never written any other work, he will not feel inspired enough to get frustrated, sufficiently clear, stubborn, or write this article.

Susan Piercy, A - A junior high school teacher, wrote a course project to write a paper on the theme "The meaning of patriotism for me". A total of 46 articles were transferred to auxiliary review. Three papers will be selected as local winners, three will continue to participate in regional competitions. Patriotism is the devotion of our veterans and soldiers; sharing with them is admitted. Our soldiers defended our country on the battlefield and sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Soldiers and veterans are heroes of many people. We have many rights and responsibilities as Americans; we have freedom, but there are many dangers and sacrifices. I am extremely grateful to our country's independence.
