The first settlers in the US have various goals and different lifestyles for various reasons. They are different, but they endanger their lives to regain their lives in the new world. John Smith and William Bradford are two very different people. John Smith is an adventurer and can be easily seen from his writings as "the general history of Virginia". William Bradford is a devout Puritan wrote in Plymouth Plantation. Differences and similarities in their perception of Indians, Tones and Styles are anthropomorphic through these two works. Both John Smith and William Bradford have strong personality and live through their sentences. These two people are very different from each other, but there are still some similarities.

Both John Smith and William Bradford met Indians while exploring the New World. They deal with these encounters in various ways. John Smith thinks the Indians are "barbarians" and "barbarians".
