Hello everyone. Due to popular demand and @ chggma cool, the spreadsheet is now used for women and non-dual cognitive modelers. Possible: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d .... Hopefully we can add everyone to the original post etc.
Being a scientist can be the most amazing job in the world - it is an incredible combination of creativity, problem solving, reading and communication. My advice is to learn to defend yourself. Since we need another person's point of view, please build a support network outside the lab. Once you find them, develop excellent instructors and even other scientific instructors. You usually can not get all the professional guidance that you need from one person. So when you meet someone connected to you, do not ask them to drink coffee and talk about their career. Most people like to talk about themselves and you may find additional mentors. Start or join affiliated institution or online support interest group (@ SYSTEMWomen, @ BLACKandSTEM, @ DiversifyEEB). Focus on your scientific and career goals. Please develop these goals. Take care of yourself through hobbies, relationships, exercise, and mental health
Please cooperate with your health care provider. Join actively in your treatment and cooperate with mental health experts to plan a perfect fit for you. Discuss your goals with them and decide how fast you feel comfortable and adhere to your plan. Please do not give up when it does not go well. Instead, consult your doctor or therapist for possible changes. Be healthy. In the research, it is reported that less important activity such as meditation, yoga, tai chi can relieve stress, but it is reported that symptoms can be resolved with a severe aerobic exercise in 30 minutes. Regular exercise can alleviate many symptoms. Since meals are also an important factor, please eat healthy balanced diet and pay attention to the sensitivity of food. Certain foods and additives cause unpleasant physical reactions in some people, which can lead to irritability and anxiety.
