"Skipper" and "As Birds Bring Forth the Sun" Analysis

In short stories "Captain", Aldan Nowlan introduced the hero Skipper. Captain's mother, Esel, was anxious for her and her son to live a better life outside the mining community. As a short story "As the sun in the sun as a bird", Alistair MacLeod introduced a puppy named cùmòrglas. Cúmòrglas was saved by one of the families living by the sea. Aldan Nolan's "Captain" and Alistair McLeod's "Bringing the Sun to Birds" seem to have little in common, but both stories show the same series of events. Captain and coomgrass caused unconscious suffering to their loved ones.
