#Obvi! Study Confirms Gay Parents Are Just as Good as Straight Ones

Researchers analyzed national child health survey data and compared the family relationships of female parents between homosexualities between 95 families with 95 sex-specific parents, parental stress and child outcomes.

They even eliminated divorce and single parents to ensure that all investigated families are as closely involved as possible. What they found is that most of us already know - families with homosexual parents are no different from gender different families.

"This study is a comparison of these two families using a nationwide survey, focusing only on families that are related to parents," Dr. Henie Boss, the lead author, said . According to Vox, two other previous studies found that parents of same sex and heterosexual parents were equally competent.

One thing to note is that in the new study there was no difference in family relationships or outcomes for children, but parents of same sex (no difference in child's health and emotional outcome) behavior

Why stress? A co-author of this study, Naneete Gartrell, said that this may be related to the way the same parents are found in society. "In future surveys, there is the possibility to investigate whether the cultural focus of children's outcomes in homosexual parents is related to increased parental stress," she said. "Our early research shows that lesbian mothers feel pressured to prove their quality of child rearing for sexual orientation."

Hopefully this situation will last for longer periods of time as such more and more research will provide further evidence to support parenting of homosexuals.
