A sculptor, a welder, a commercial shipbuilder, Jeff is a survivor of prostate cancer. His cancer was detected by a blood test conducted at the regular medical examination of Medical Family Practice in Portland Maine.
Through surgery and radiotherapy, Jeff remembered the strength and wisdom of caregivers, leaving a deep impression on him. "I learned a little about myself," he said, "I never lost sleep and I was not worried about becoming cancer.I did what I wanted to do, We repaired. "
Jeff said he respects scientists who do basic research. "The work done by Jackson Labs provides the foundation for clinical staff to establish information on treatment plan."
As Jeff admits, biomedical research is a difficult task. While creativity promotes new discoveries, progress depends on building blocks of data from previous work.
Dr. Carol Bult, a professor at Jackson Laboratory, is leading a research project to develop and improve gene data databases and to provide global researchers with important sources of information on mouse genes, tumors, physical characteristics and other data doing. She is also studying the growth and development of normal tissues to identify important genes and pathways in diseases such as lung cancer.
Through clinical experience, I learned some new knowledge about myself. I learned basic counseling skills by listening to patients, identifying potential problems, sympathizing with him, and providing basic care to prevent further problems. I do not know that with little encouragement and sympathy it can satisfy the mentally disabled and be able to calm. Communication can make a patient relax and make you happy. For example, due to attempted suicide, Miss H eventually entered the facility.
This is what I am working hard hard lately. This is what I have learned through frustration over and over. I learned more about myself than I did when I was doing well. I learned not only being patient with myself but also being patient. Every time I finish it and complete the whole process I get the opportunity to contemplate, review, and see what I can survive and get up from there. Over time, I was able to judge what success means success for me,
My experience at CLC is wonderful and I understand that it is important to give back to the community. I also learned about some of my own things; I learned to miss something that I like to become a volunteer and I think will help change. Local community service experience at high school and high school affected me. I do not mind helping my community or giving up some time to serve it; I found it interesting and useful. I think that I have made a change. In the second event, CLC students seemed to like MiraCosta volunteer students, but I am very thankful and it was fun to understand Chinese culture. One thing that I have never experienced is criticism, but I am truly praised what I have been there to help. When Professor Stella said that service learning will be done at CLC, my first reaction was how to get there and incorporate it into my schedule.
