Rain of Ernest Hemingway's "Farewell, Weapons" is a symbol of imminent fate. It will serve as an early warning for future bad things from physical pain to emotional struggle, even death. Rain also reflects the depressed mood of the novel in the direction of war and the feelings of everyone. The similarity with its death and its influence on heroes of Hemingway helps emphasize the character of the hero. Finally, it combines all the tragedies in the book, repeating the devastating effects of war and the messages of death and pain accompanying it. From the beginning of the novel, it shows the dominant position and importance of the rain - we are said to be "permanent rain" (4). In retrospect, this "permanent rain" is indeed death itself, and its threat is obscured in the book.
